Welcome to the Factory Floor.
DieCast is one of Manchester’s largest industrial spaces. A sprawling 250,000 square foot former metalworks and factory floor. Some of the original buildings date back to 1870 with some beautiful original ceilings and structures. Blessed with Victorian Belfast Roofs contrasting with articulated loading bays, corrugated steel shutters and concrete terrazzo floors.
The factory was at its manufacturing peak in the 1960s, 70 and 80s. Meaning the main buildings and offices, left vacant since the 90s, felt reminiscent of scenes from Chernobyl or Mad Max.
We’re proud of what we’ve done as a team so far. But now we’ve got the keys, there is no doubt that this is the biggest project we’ve ever got our hands on. The plan is create a new destination for Manchester but the scale and setting means this isn’t more than a venue but an area in itself.
